A rafting trip down the Dunajec River gorge in Cerveny Klastor

The rafting route leads from Czerwony Klasztor through the Dunajec gorge to the state border near the village of Lesnica. It is 10 km long, and it takes 90-120 minutes to cover it, depending on the water level.

Czerwony Klasztor is a Slovakian highlander village on the southern bank of the Dunajec River, located opposite the Polish village of Sromowce Niżne. The life of the village is dominated by tourism thanks to the most important local attractions: rafting on traditional rafts on the Dunajec at the foot of Trzy Korony and a museum in a historic monastery.

There is a restaurant, buffets and souvenir shops next to the monastery complex. Next to it, an autocamp with a campsite, where the Zamagurské folklorné slávnosti festival takes place in June. There is a rafting marina on the Dunajec River, from where you can go on a famous rafting trip down the Dunajec River Gorge.

The rafting route leads from Czerwony Klasztor through the Dunajec gorge to the state border near the village of Lesnica. It is 10 km long, and it takes 90-120 minutes to cover it, depending on the water level.

During the cruise you can admire the beautiful nature of Pieniny, rocky overhangs, calm and undulating waters of the Dunajec. Before you enter the Pieniny Mountains on a wooden raft, you will be welcomed by the majestic Trzy Korony, which is a symbol of this mountain range. From the story of the raftsman, you will learn about the bandit Janosik, who jumped over the Dunajec in the narrowest place, when the Pandurs chased him, about the seven monks from the Red Monastery who died when they went to meet the Polish nun. The story will also invite you to other rarities of the Pieniny National Park.
