San Valley Local Action Group
The original assumption of the Local Action Group - an agreement of natural and legal persons was the activity consisting in implementing the local development strategy with the financial resources of the European Agricultural Fund for Rural Development. Currently, the Group operates as an ordinary association by undertaking joint activities, sharing resources, responsibility and benefits.
One of the goals of the LAG is the comprehensive development of the region, its promotion and full use of local resources. The more that the area where the association operates is very interesting and rich in terms of cultural, historical and natural heritage, thus constituting an inexhaustible source of inspiration.
In 2018, as a result of efforts, on the basis of a lending agreement concluded with the Sanok Commune, the association obtained the right to dispose of a real estate developed with a public building located directly at the historic Market Square in Mrzygłód (a relic of wooden architecture on the Subcarpathian section of the Wooden Architecture Trail and the Blue San Trail). Seeing the opportunities to diversify the existing statutory activities and the development potential, the organization obtained funds to restore the technical functionality of the building, and then to initiate activation activities. In the renovated building, a workshop of disappearing professions was created - mainly pottery, ceramics and wickerwork. The studio is made available to the local community and tourists for the purpose of conducting handicraft workshops. This is a new attraction on the Podkarpacie tourist routes, including the Wooden Architecture Trail.
