A wonderful spring in Radoszyce

Driving to Slovakia from Komańcza towards the Radoszyce - Palota border crossing, near the road in Radoszyce, we will find a miraculous spring. According to a preserved folk legend, in this place almost 140 years ago a sick girl, being at the end of her endurance due to suffering, experienced the miracle of the revelation of the Virgin Mary and recovery, when she washed herself with water from the local spring. After this event, the spring began to be considered miraculous, and the water was famous for its healing powers. After successive healings, pilgrimage and indulgence ceremonies were held here every ninth Thursday after the feast of the Lord's Resurrection, counting according to the Julian liturgical calendar (during the Catholic feast of Corpus Christi). At the end of the last decade of the 20th century, on the initiative of Fr. mitrata Jan Pipki, the parish priest of the Greek Catholic parish in Komańcza and Jan Krysyna, a social activist from the village of Radoszyce, the spring beating here was reinforced, and the annual celebration of water blessing was resumed. Currently, this day has been entered into the calendar of secular communal events as the Lemko kermesz called "Radoszyckie Źródeł - Meeting at the border". This Kermesz is accompanied by performances, competitions and an open-air folk festival. As in the past, many guests from Poland and Slovakia come to these events, using the Radoszyce-Palota border crossing that was opened here.
