Church of Saint Francis of Assisi in Hervartov.

Roman Catholic wooden church of St. Francis of Assisi, in 2008, was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. It is the oldest wooden church in Slovakia

It was built at the turn of the 15th and 16th centuries, probably in 1500. Wooden, built on a framework made of yew beams, with a tower of pole construction, it is a classic example of Gothic sacred architecture of the Western Carpathians. The roofs over the nave and the chancel, the tented roof of the tower and the shaft of the tower are covered with shingles, the walls of the nave and the chancel as well as the bases of the tower and its overhanging room are boarded with vertical boards. There is an octagonal turret on the ridge of the nave's roof.

Inside, there is a gothic, painted wing altar from 1460-1470 and a painting entitled "The Last Supper" from 1653. On the ceiling there is a valuable polychrome from 1596. The paintings on the walls, slightly younger, come from 1665 and show, among others, St. George with the dragon.

It is the oldest and best kept wooden church in Slovakia. The most valuable parts of its interior include Gothic panel paintings and wall paintings from 1655 and 1805.
