Dolinianie (Dolinians)

Community.

At present, there are few folk groups in the area of Sanok, which to some extent continue the Doliniańskie traditions. Two folk bands operate at the Commune House of Culture in Sanok: Kamraty Folk Band was founded in 1985 in Strachocin. The band's repertoire includes over 100 folk songs. It presents the authentic, traditional folklore of the Pod Sanok village. He actively participates in the cultural life of the Sanok Commune and represents it outside. The comrades try to save the joyful tones of the folk music of the Dolinian region from being forgotten. They appear in traditional Dolinian folk costumes.

Another folk group operating at the Municipal Cultural Center in Sanok is the Liszanian Folk Group . It was established in 2001 in Liszna near Sanok. The founder was Józef Mleczko, who led the team as its manager for the next several years. A distinguished member is also Edward Filipczak, who from the very beginning cared for maintaining old traditions and folk music. The ensemble includes an instrumental band and a singing group whose repertoire mainly presents old melodies and songs from the Sanok area, Carpathian music and feast songs. The band performs at events and secular and church ceremonies organized in the commune and Podkarpacie region.

Pakoszowianie vocal and ritual ensemble is a ritual and vocal ensemble operating at the Circle of Rural Housewives in Pakoszówka. The band was founded in 2012. The repertoire of Pakoszowians includes, above all, rituals related to the life of the inhabitants of the village near Sanok at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, as well as folk, folk and patriotic songs.

Support of authorities.

Teresa Podolak is actively involved in activities aimed at passing on the old history and regional tradition to the next generations. He takes part in exhibitions organized in the Sanok district. It presents traditional Easter eggs made with the batik method (a method involving making patterns on Easter eggs with the use of warm wax). He wins prizes at exhibitions organized by the Sanok Commune Office. She could often be seen during various performances, mainly organized by the local Rural Housewives' Association. During which the story resembles the old customs of the Sanok region. She is a person who is very eager to share her stories and experiences. He becomes one of the last ambassadors to show the ancient culture of the Dolinians.

The substantive employees of the Folk Architecture Museum in Sanok are undoubtedly the authorities in researching and presenting the material and spiritual culture of the Dolinians. Undoubtedly, all the directors of this institution belong to them: Aleksander Rybicki , Jerzy Czajkowski , and Jerzy Ginalski.

The late Aleksandre Rybicki, the first director and founder of the Sanok facility. During the German occupation, Rybicki organized transit routes which he managed, was the creator of courier routes that led through the Sanok region to Hungary, and was also an active courier, and then a liaison of the Government in Exile with the country. After the end of the war, in 1947, he was arrested by the NKVD. As a result of a short investigation and trial, he was sentenced to 25 years in a labor camp. On August 22, 1955, he was released from serving his sentence and returned to Poland. In the years 1956-1958 he organized the rescue work of the surviving monuments that remained in south-eastern Poland after the "Operation Vistula". The result was the creation of the Sanok open-air museum. A meritorious figure for saving culture. He has been awarded many times for his underground and culture-oriented activities. Decorated, among others, with the Silver Cross of the Virtuti Militari Order of the 5th class, the Knight's Cross of the Order of Polonia Restituta, the Golden Cross of Merit and decorations for the care of monuments. It is thanks to the attitude of Rybicki, his persistence and passion that the Museum of Folk Architecture presents the former borderland, where a group of Dolinians occupy an important place. Moreover, the ethnographer Dr. Maria Marciniak made a huge contribution to getting to know the costumes in particular. It was the only one that managed to thoroughly examine the valley dress. The materials from the field research have been widely presented in the 32nd issue of the Materials of the Folk Architecture Museum in Sanok. She actively participated in cultural events organized in the Sanok region, consulted the scenarios of ritual groups, unfortunately no longer appearing today.
