Dolinyanie Roadside Inn

The building of an impressive inn, which was located in the town of Rogi in the district of Krosno in the 19th century. It is one of the most common examples of the construction of old Polish inns, especially popular in Podkarpacie. The largest part of the inn was the so-called depot running along the entire building. Cargo and travel carts were locked there overnight in order to protect the goods from theft. There were horse stalls next to the wagons.

The inn used to be used by travelers tired of wandering along the trade route and peasants coming from nearby villages, who sold their products at local markets and grand fairs. The inn offered them not only food and drink, but also accommodation. Merchants left their carts with their goods in the depot, and went to eat and sleep. In the front part of the Inn from Rogi there was a tavern room where guests could eat local specialties. Behind the tavern room, there was a guest room, formerly known as an alcove. On the other side of the corridor there were two rooms in which the innkeeper and his family lived.

This unique building is made of square timber joined at the corners, the joints of the beams are beautifully highlighted thanks to the white stripes made of lime. It is covered with a soaring gable roof covered with wooden shingles.
