Muszynka - the wooden church of St. John

St. John the Evangelist in Muszynka, currently a branch church of the parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Tylicz

St. John the Evangelist in Muszynka - it is a former Greek Catholic church, which after 1947 was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church. Currently, it is used as a branch church of the parish of Saints Peter and Paul in Tylicz.

It is a Lemko three-part church. Above the vestibule there is a column-frame tower with a wooden cupola and a forged cross.

Below the roof of the tower there are a series of semicircular windows. The smaller helmets are located above the nave and the chancel closed on three sides. It is covered with a ridge roof, and a tented roof rises above the nave. The entire roof of the church is covered with sheet metal.

The first church in Muszynka was erected after the location of the village in 1636 by modifying the old, disused church. The present building is younger and was built only in the next century, while in the 19th century it was rebuilt. Inside, the ornamental polychrome, which was made at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, has survived in fairly good condition. It is kept in shades of blue. The pulpit with the figures of the eight Fathers of the Church should also arouse interest. After the Operation "Vistula", the facility was taken over by the Roman Catholic Church.

The church was entered on the list of monuments in 1964. It was included in the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
