Orthodox church Of the Transfiguration of the Lord in Czerteż.

Wooden Greek Catholic church of Boyko. The church in Czertż is a typical Boyko church, with a wooden structure, three-part and with only one nave. The roof is covered with shingle.

According to various versions, this temple was built in 1740 or 1742. The Orthodox Diocese of Czertez already existed in the 15th century, and after the adoption of the Union of Brest, it became a single pastoral institution. It is not known how many sacred buildings today are located on the premises of the church, built in 1742.

In 1836, the church was rebuilt, and therefore its shape changed significantly - only one of the three domes above the nave, the altar and the women's gallery remained. A sacristy was added to the eastern wall of the temple, also made of wood. At that time, the interior was also decorated in the form of a set of frescoes, which are best preserved in the sacristy and the altar hall. In 1887, a free-standing belfry was built next to the church, the main contractor of which was Seńko Kikta.
