Skansen Archeologiczny Karpacka Troja

Karpacka Troja is an original combination of the traditional form of an open-air museum and a modern museum facility. The project assumed the creation of an archaeological open-air museum on the area of over 8 ha. The entire complex consists of a historic settlement, a modern exhibition pavilion, an archaeological park, a livestock sector, experimental plots and a viewing platform.

In the pavilion, we will visit a wonderfully arranged exhibition and watch the award-winning, spectacular film about Carpathian Troy. In the archaeological park, the settlement of the Ottomani-Füzesabony culture dating back to 3,500 years has been reconstructed, as well as a Slavic village from the 9th century and a smithy - in total, we visit as many as 18 huts. The park also has educational infrastructure, a festival square and a breeding sector with animals of breeds bred in Trzcinica centuries ago. More than 200 m of ramparts, 2 gates leading to the castle (from the Bronze Age and the Early Middle Ages) and 6 huts have been reconstructed in the stronghold. All reconstructions were made based on the results of scientific research and the knowledge available in this field. The sightseeing tour of the museum ends with a viewing platform erected in 2014.

The restaurant in the open-air museum is open seasonally, from Tuesday to Sunday, during the opening hours of the open-air museum.

The open-air museum organizes workshops, museum lessons, and there is a little explorer's room for the youngest.

Among the workshop offer, we can find:

Pottery , Archery , Circle of History , Young archaeologist , Games and fun of the Slavs , Prehistoric cuisine , Agriculture and crops in prehistory and in the early Middle Ages , Recognition of tree and plant species in the settlement. Toy making , Easter eggs , decorated with Slavic ornaments ...
