St. Nicholas in Dobra Szlachecka

The church complex in Dobra consists of the Greek Catholic church of St. Nicholas (now the Roman Catholic Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross and the gate-bell tower.

The Orthodox Church of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross was built in 1879 and is now a Roman Catholic church. It is a great attraction for every lover of wooden architecture. Thanks to the activity of the Bogdański family in Podkarpacie, at the turn of the 19th and 20th centuries, colorful interiors were created that attracted attention. Their works are also icons, consisting of four-row icons. Although this church is an interesting and very attractive object, the main purpose of visiting Dobra is the bell tower by the church. It used to be an independent church, today it is a typical bell tower. As it is the only monument of this type in Poland, this tower is very popular. It is thanks to this unusual tower that the small village on the San River has become an important travel destination around the country.

The church complex was included in the Subcarpathian Wooden Architecture Trail
