The bison demonstration farm in Muczne is one of the greatest natural attractions of the Bieszczady Mountains - in a natural setting you can observe the life of a bison herd without disturbing the peace of these dignified animals.
The European bison demonstration farm is located in the area of the Muczne forestry, by the Stuposiany - Tarnawa Niżna road, by the Czerwony stream, about 2 km before the village of Muczne.
It was established in 2012. Its main goal is to improve the genetic condition of the Bieszczady bison and the desire to recreate the “Górny San” herd. European bison are susceptible to many diseases, including contracting tuberculosis. It was precisely this disease that the herd living in the Stuposiany forest district struggled with.
The farm covers a forest area of about 7 ha and allows you to observe animals in their natural environment. The area is covered with old fir and spruce trees, and a stream that supplies water to the bison flows through the center.
In the farm , we can admire the bison of the Białowieża-Caucasian line, the so-called mountain, coming from Switzerland, France, Poland and Germany.
Żubry from Muczne is one of the greatest attractions of the Bieszczady Mountains.
This facility is divided into a demonstration part, with viewing terraces, benches, information boards for tourists and acclimatization boards, where the bison brought to the Bieszczady and those that are to be released are sent.
