One of the most interesting attractions of Kapusany are the ruins of a medieval fortified castle situated on a rocky ridge of the mountain called Zámčisko. The first brick stronghold was erected here in the 13th century.

The first brick stronghold was erected here in the 13th century. This fortress was built on the site of a former wooden Slavic fortress. The main task of the new castle was to control an important trade route leading to nearby Presov . At the end of the 13th century, the stronghold came under the rule of the famous Hungarian nobleman and rebel Mateusz Czak Trenczyński . In the 16th century, the castle was extended and additionally fortified. This fortress functioned until the 18th century, when it was captured by the troops of Franciszek II Rakoczy . The retreating troops plundered and set fire to the castle, which was demolished in 1715 by the decision of the congregation. Since then, the dilapidated and abandoned fortress began to fall into greater and greater ruin. To this day, only the remains of the defensive walls have survived from this once imposing stronghold. The approach to the ruins is from the northern side of the hill. There is a beautiful panorama of the area from the castle walls. Currently, the castle is undergoing conservation work to restore the fortress to its former appearance. In 2021, the castle's main gate was reconstructed. Historical and archaeological works are also in progress, as no pre-war documents showing the shape of the castle have survived.
