Velka Domasza - a large artificial water reservoir on the Ondawa River in the Ondava Foothills, in the historical region of Zemplín in eastern Slovakia. The average water surface area - 14.22 km², length - 13.8 km, width up to 3 km, depth up to 25 m, average water surface height 156 m above sea level, Veľka Domaša is accompanied by a small expansion reservoir Malá Domaša, located a few kilometers to the south. The national road No. 15 from Svidník through Stropkov to Vranov nad Topľou runs along the eastern shore of the lake. Veľká Domaša was filled in the years 1962–1967. The villages of Dobra nad Ondavou, Trepec, Kelča, Valkov and Petejovce were completely flooded during the filling. Veľká Domaša is of great economic importance. Its main task is to protect the East Slovak Lowland against spring floods, and it is also used for energy and recreational purposes - the climate is mild and the water temperature in summer reaches 23 ° C. It also serves as a utility water tank, and prospectively also for drinking water. The unevenness of the water supply causes large fluctuations in the water level, which in turn causes erosion of the banks and landslides on the slopes surrounding the lake.
