Greek Catholic wooden church of St. John the Baptist

The wooden Greek Catholic church in the village of Kalná Roztoka was built in 1750. It is dedicated to the holy prophet of the Lord and the Baptist John. John the Baptist was the son of Elizabeth and Zechariah. He preached penance. He lived like an ascetic in the desert. In preparing the people for the coming of the Lord, he practiced baptism with water as a symbol of salvation on the day of the coming judgment.

The wooden church in Klan Roztoky was built in the style of a log house. The temple consists of a sanctuary, a nave and a vestibule. The vestibule has a dome tower and a three-armed cross. There is a three-armed cross on the chancel roof. The tower of the temple and the roof were covered with wooden shingles. This temple is unique because its wooden walls are plastered inside and out and painted with lime to protect the temple from bad weather. The entrance to the temple leads from the west to the vestibule.

The church in the village of Kalná Roztoka has a wall with three doors that stands between the nave and the temple. This iconostasis is from the 17th century. It has five rows of icons. Christmas icons come from the 18th century. In the main line of the iconostasis there are the following icons: St. Nicholas of Myra, St. Our Lady of Hodegetria (signpost), Christ the Teacher and Master, St. John the Baptist. The imperial door consists of two wings representing the four evangelists and the feast of the Annunciation to the Blessed Virgin Mary, always Virgin. On the lining of the imperial door there is St. Basil the Great and on the right side of St. Jan Złotousty.
