It is one of the oldest Lemko churches. In 2013, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with other wooden churches in Poland and Ukraine.

It is a Greek Catholic parish church, built in 1653, located in the village of Owczary.

Currently, it serves as a Greek Catholic parish church and a branch church of the Roman Catholic parish in Sękowa

It is one of the oldest Lemko churches. In 2013, it was inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List along with other wooden churches in Poland and Ukraine.

The church is characterized by the Lemko type, it is tripartite, with a column-frame tower above the vestibule. The chancel and the nave, after reconstruction, are of equal width. The shingled roofs over the three parts of the temple are crowned with helmets with pseudo-lanterns and crosses.

Initially, rectangular windows were located only in the southern wall of the church, because the northern part was identified with the devil's forces. Due to the need to protect against moisture, the church was erected on a foundation made of felled tree trunks.

The church has been renovated many times, and the last major renovation took place in the 1980s. The shingled roofing of tent walls and roofs was restored, and all restoration activities were awarded with the international Europa Nostra award.

The church is located on the Wooden Architecture Trail of the Lesser Poland Voivodeship.
