WLODZIMIERZ, great prince, equal to the apostles (Rawnoapostolnyj wielikij prince Vladimir). He was the son of prince Światosław and grandson of St. Princess Olga, baptized in Constantinople between 954 and 957. He was born around 960. He was brought up by his grandmother. Vladimir was only nineteen years old when he was invited to the princely throne of Veliky Novgorod. However, he found an opponent in his brother. He went to Scandinavia, from where he returned at the head of the knights. In 978 he recaptured Nowogród from his brother, and after his death in 980, he also became the Grand Duke of Kiev.

A brick church built in the years 1983–1996. Consecrated on September 8, 1996. In the center of the temple there is an iconostasis and several icons, and in the vestibule - a historic painting with a scene of Christ's judgment and a scene of the Crucifixion cut out of wood, probably from the top of the iconostasis.

The belfry-tower was crowned with a dome on June 1, 2016, the total height of the tower has since been 46 m and thus the church of St. Włodzimierz is the tallest building in the city.
