Solivar Museum - brine reservoir

In 1815, due to the high extraction efficiency, brine storage tanks were also built. On stone pedestals there are eight wooden tanks with a capacity of 1,320 hl, a total of 10,560 hl. All tanks form an integrated whole and are located in one building , structurally adapted to the terrain. The brine was fed to the settling tanks from the sludge tank with a wooden pipe from the Leopold shaft. From eight tanks, where the brine was concentrated by partial evaporation and cleaned by sedimentation of sand and impurities, it was then poured into the last , lowest tank, located at ground level in the dark. The pre-cleaned and slightly concentrated brine was directed to the next building (the brewhouse), where the e heater and evaporating bowls were located.
