The Szeptycki manor in Korczyn

The Museum of the Korczyńska Region was established in the historic Szeptycki manor in Korczyn. The initiators of this undertaking were the mayor of the Korczyna commune and the Kołder family from the Kamieniec Castle Museum.

In the historic Szeptycki manor located in Korczyn at ul. Spółdzielcza 20, the Museum of the Korczyńska Region was opened. The initiators of this undertaking were the mayor of the Korczyna commune and the Kołder family from the Kamieniec Castle Museum.

In the created museum, we can admire a very large collection of equipment and weaving products, as well as souvenirs and objects related to the history of the Korczyński land. There are also artifacts about the Kamieniec Castle. Simultaneously with the opening of this museum, there was a presentation of the exhibition "Korczyna our ancestors" prepared by Tomasz Okoniewski. At this exhibition you can see archival photographs and postcards. One of the rooms of the museum is related to the history of the town of Korczyna. There is, among others, a portrait of general S. Szeptycki, numerous artifacts that survived the person of St. JS Pelczar and the old church in Korczyn. Among the exhibits about the Kamieniec Castle, the most important are letters and photos related to the owners of the Kamieniec Castle. It should be mentioned here that the Szeptycki family was related to the great Polish bard Aleksander Count Fredro, and the prototype for the famous "Zemsta" was the adventures of the owners of the Kamieniec Castle in Odrzykoń.

The Museum of the Korczyna Region can be visited after prior reservation of the date - for this purpose, please contact the Commune Cultural Center in Korczyn.
