The Vihorlat Museum was founded in 1960, and since 1969 it has been located in a Renaissance chateau from the 17th century. The palace - the castle was built at the turn of the 16th and 17th centuries, it is connected with the fate of the Drugetha family. Nowadays, the palace houses historical and sightseeing collections.

Permanent exhibitions:
The exhibition of the history of art was established in 1971. It presents to the visitors the former residential culture of the local nobility from the Renaissance to the 20th century.
The nature exhibition in the northern wing of the chateau - chateau presents the natural environment of the Humenné poviat.
The gallery department, established in 1989, focuses on exhibition, cultural and educational activities as well as publishing. Exhibitions of Slovak and foreign artists are organized here. In its file, the museum documents information about the life and work of regional artists.
The exposition of folk architecture and interior design is located in the palace park.
