Zamutov

Located near Vranov nad Toplou, at the foot of the Slanske Wierch Mountains, Zamutov is the starting point for hiking trails towards the famous Crvenica opal mine, and has recently become a ski resort thanks to its gentle, artificial snow slope.

The town was listed as early as 1399 as belonging to the owners of the nearby Ciczwa castle. The villagers of that time, apart from working in the fields, also mined opal, iron ore and brown coal in the mountains.

Today Zamutov has a population of around 3,000 and around 400 children attend the local primary school. There are churches of as many as three denominations in the village - from 1912 there is a Roman Catholic church of Our Lady of the Rosary, from 1920 an Evangelical church, there is also a Greek Catholic church dedicated to the Mother of God.

There are two ski lifts on the slope, 300m and 500m. The slope is gentle in the lower half and suitable for beginners or children. The top of the slope is steep and only suitable for experienced skiers.

The slope has been snow-covered since December 2018, which increased the quality of the slopes and extended the time of using the lift.

The lift is open in the winter season:

• Monday - Friday from 12:00 to 19:00

• Saturday - Sunday 09:00 - 19:00

In addition to the buffet where you can refresh and warm up, there is also a ski and snowboard rental next to the lift. There are also 52 km of groomed cross-country tracks.
