Bojkowie (Boykos)

TRADITIONS AND CUSTOMS.

In understanding the spirituality of traditional communities (also Boykos), whose existence has been associated with the cultivation of the land and cattle grazing for centuries, it is extremely important to take into account their dualistic nature.

The nature of folk beliefs is a combination of pre-Christian nature cults with faith in God and His threefold nature.

In Boyko's ritual calendar, faith in the forces of nature, often embodied by saints, or important liturgical events, were constantly intertwined. The strong relationship of the traditional man with the cycles of nature required respect for its laws and developed a range of deeply entrenched practices.
