What does the Grays have to do with a volcano?

The name of the Šariš region comes from the name of the volcanic cone emerging from the plain on the Torya River north of Prešov. As the inscription above the medieval castle veduta says, the name used to be ZAROS, which some translate as a castle, area, or territory beyond Russia.
