Territory

Šariš is situated in the Outer, Central and Inner Western Carpathians. In the north, Šariš adjoins the Polish lands of Nowy Sącz and Brzeg, in the east with Zemplín, in the south with Abov, and in the west with Spisz. Currently, this region is located mainly in the Prešov Region (counties: Prešov, Sabinov and Bardejov and partly the counties: Ľubovňa, Kezmark, Vranov nad Topľou, Svidnik and Stropkov). A small part of the region is located in the Košice region (Košice-environs poviat and, to a very small extent, Košice I and Gelnica poviats).
